Kenneth and Jenny Keavey’s family farm is situated just 10 miles from Galway city near the village of Corrandulla, Eircode H91 F9C5. They converted the farm to an organic vegetable farm in 2004 and have been growing vegetables and delivering organic produce nationwide for more than 17 years. They farm 20 acres and have 2.5 acres aside for an area of wildlife biodiversity, native trees, and red clover/grassland. They have planted more than 7,000 trees on their land, and now that they have run out of space they donate a percentage of all purchases to native tree planting charities. They are certified by the Irish Organic Association and everything they sell is organic.

Over the last two years their popular farm shop on site had been closed to the public while they focused on safe home deliveries. They have announced that they will reopen this weekend, on Saturday June 4. The farm shop will be open to the public on Saturdays between 10am and 5pm.

For this weekend’s grand re-opening there will also be some fun events. A free farm tour with Kenneth Keavey that will focus on growing and sustainability will take place from 12 noon to 2pm, where Kenneth will guide participants on how to grow sustainable food. Go along to see the polytunnels, machinery demonstrations, forestry, wild flowers, crops, and may even get a chance to feed the pet pigs.

Live music is happening between 1pm and 3pm, and there will be classical and traditional flute music at the shop between 3pm and 4pm. Jenny Keavey will run a children's nature-themed art workshop from 3pm to 4pm.

Head down to the farm to support this small, sustainable, family farm and enjoy a fun day out in the Galway countryside. The shop has a wonderful selection of sustainable Irish and plastic-free organic groceries with more than 600 products as well as a comprehensive selection of fresh organic produce.

The shop has a modern till system and will be cashless. Don’t forget to bring your shopping bags. If you cannot make it to the re-opening, check out the website www.greenearthorganics.ie to see all the wonderful food they can deliver, plastic free, to your door.
