NUI Galway to host MBA open evening

NUI Galway’s AMBA and AACSB accredited MBA programme, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, will host a virtual MBA open evening on May 11 at 6pm. The open evening is a great opportunity to learn about the programme and to meet MBA faculty, students, and graduates.

Current second year MBA student, Sharon Walsh, vice president, technology management, at Fidelity Investments, said: “Two years ago I embarked on the MBA at NUI Galway and as I come to the end of that journey, I can say without any doubts it has been a once in a lifetime immersive leadership development experience. The business world is particularly complex and increasingly interconnected, the MBA has raised my professional competence from both a business and personal leadership perspective. Through the learnings from the dedicated faculty and from a wonderful group of high calibre fellow MBA peers, I am leaving with expanded knowledge to lead more strategically and ready to embrace new challenges with greater confidence.”

Mark McKeigue, chief commercial officer at ÉireComposites Teo, is a current first year MBA student. Speaking of his MBA experience he said: “As a chief commercial officer of a growing SME serving the aerospace, space, renewable energy, and automotive industries, I chose to do the MBA to broaden my practical knowledge, build connections, and deepen my understanding of my own leadership style. The course format encouraged me to take learnings from the MBA into my job but also to frame considerations within my role in a different light. Currently at the end of first year, the most recent module, innovation and entrepreneurship, has afforded me the opportunity to present a project that is being developed in my company, to a class of first and second year MBA students for feedback. Having a project stress tested by such a broad range of talented individuals was both valuable and insightful and would not have been possible had it not been for the MBA."

An MBA is the one of the most prestigious business degrees globally, and the AMBA (Association of MBAs ) accredited NUI Galway MBA, is one of the leading programmes in the country. For further information visit www.nuigalway.ie/mba
