Athenry Credit Union has just launched the Think Sustainability Awards for Primary Schools. The awards are designed to promote green learning, increase visibility for schools that strive in this area and support schools on their green journey.

All Primary Schools in the Athenry Credit Union Common Bond have been invited to participate in the awards. Schools can enter by visiting the Athenry Credit Union Website, where they can submit information about their most prominent green project.

The winning school will receive a prize of €500 and runner-up €250. The prize money will be used to invest in the continued development of sustainability within the winning schools.

Philip Lavelle, Marketing Officer from Athenry Credit Union said they are delighted to launch the Think Sustainability Awards for Primary Schools.

“School staff and pupils go to great efforts to teach, promote and implement green projects in their schools and we feel that this should be rewarded.

“We would encourage all schools to participate, it doesn’t matter how big or small your school green project is, we want to hear about it,” he said.

Athenry Credit Union has branches in Athenry, Ballygar, Birr, Kilkerrin, Kinvara, Menlough and Portumna.
