HE HAS become an Irish comedy phenomenon through his videos and Instagram stories, and this month, he returns to stages around Ireland.
Tony Cantwell, whose “unconventional take on comedy belongs on The Adult Swim network”, according to The Irish Times, is bringing his Pony tour around Ireland, and plays Galway’s Black Box Theatre on Saturday February 26 at 8pm.
The Dublin based comedian and improviser has generated more than four million views online, and amassed a cult-following, thanks to his oddball alter-egos Ploon, Your Ma’s Mate, and The Dublin Frenchman, as well as hundreds more created through his daily Instagram stories.
In 2019 he started his hugely popular podcast, ‘Tony Cantwell’s S***show’, and he has enjoyed sell-out shows at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs and appearances at the Vodafone Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He is also the host of the comedy show, Sexy Beasts.
