St Bernard's maintain improved form

Corrib Celtic host Athenry on Sunday

Three important games are on the agenda in the Galway FA premier division this weekend.

On Saturday afternoon Corrib Rangers host Tuam Celtic in a match carrying significance for both clubs, who remain eager to avoid relegation.

Athenry, who have a 100 per cent record from eight matches, journey to Annaghdown for a demanding encounter against Corrib Celtic on Sunday morning.

St Bernard's, gaining momentum, face Mervue United in Abbeyknockmoy in another attractive fixture.

It has been an encouraging stint for Bernard's, who defeated Loughrea 4-0 last weekend with Paddy Mullins 2, Glen Kelly, and Cormac McWalter scoring.

On Friday table toppers Salthill Devon required a late Jackson Da Silva goal to rescue a point following an Adam Healy opener for Mervue United.

Morgan Leggett and Cole Connolly struck for Athenry, who defeated Galway Hibernians 2-0.

West United proved too strong for Colemanstown with Dennis Lydon, Gary Higgins, James Ryan, Eoin Whelan, and Oisin Connolly grabbing goals. Damian Wynne netted for Colemanstown, who have lost 10 of 11 games since returning to the top flight.
