Titans account for Limerick Celtic

On a day when Titans remembered the late Joe Glynn, Westside caretaker, Titans U20s produced a huge 59-83 win on the road against a tenacious Limerick Celtics in the National Cup.

Both sides were missing key players - Limerick without Ruairi Cronin and Titans without international Malik Thaim - but there was plenty of quality on show, with five Titans scoring double figures.

Chidera Okeke, Brendan Hardiman and Darragh Gleeson fought hard for every board, while Comhghall McCormack and Joseph Coughlan controlled the tempo, providing Jackson Soper, and also bagging some threes in the set plays.

James Kabana, Okeke, Karolis and Brendan Hardiman won some offensive rebounds and converted them into valuable points to pull ahead, while young Eoin Hardiman earned his keep in defence. Dean and Joseph Coughlan owned the mid court, providing valuable assistance to high scorer Jackson Soper.

Next up for Titans is UCD Marian in the next round.

Top scorers, Jackson Soper 26; Comhghall 18; Joseph Coughlan 12; Chidere Okeke 10; James Kabana 6; Brendan Hardiman 10; Karolis 2; Darragh Glleson 3. Coaches Jack Considine and Ben Kelly.
