On Saturday November 6, at approximately 7.45pm, a man was working on the Long Walk when he was approached by a group of five or six young males.
Following a brief interaction it is alleged that this male was assaulted by one of the group. The suspect is described as being 16/17 years of age, around 5ft 8 to 5ft 10 in height with light brown or blond hair.
At the time of the alleged assault he was wearing a grey tracksuit top and bottoms. Immediately after the altercation the group fled the area in the direction of the Docks. Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnesses the altercation or the alleged assault to make contact.
Gardaí are further appealing to two females who came to the aid of the injured male at the time but left before the arrival of emergency service to also make contact.
