Start a new and exciting career or upskill at the Glam Gals Academy

Glam Gals Academy offers courses in gel nail extensions, threading, tanning, gel polish, brow lamination, lash lift, and specialised waxing.

Over the past few years, there has been a huge growth in the beauty industry and interest in self care has become a priority for most, especially over the last 18 months. "I think because of this there has been a massive influx of qualified therapists looking to improve their skills, and people with no beauty experience looking to start a career in the beauty industry," said Naoise Martin, owner of Glam Gals Academy. "We at Glam Gals are extremely passionate about upskilling and constantly improving the treatments we offer and love to share this knowledge with like-minded people looking to learn a new skill and improve their treatment and services list for their clients. So whether you want to upskill or break into the beauty industry Glam Gals can help you achieve this."

Interest in gel polish manicures continues to grow. Because of this, there are many opportunities available for professional, dedicated, qualified nail technicians in the west of Ireland. If you are interested in a career in the beauty industry, training as a qualified nail technician is the first step towards reaching that goal.

Glam Gals Academy (part of the Glam Gals Beauty Salon ) is now taking bookings for its winter courses. Owner Naoise Martin, who has more than 25 years’ experience working and training in the USA, UK, and Ireland in the beauty and nail industry, will educate trainees in all the up-to-date methods.

Glam Gals Academy is the only academy to offer these courses in the west of Ireland.

"I am focused on attention to detail and passionate about perfection," Naoise Martin said. "I will be providing advice on all aspects of gel nail application and also the right products to use to get started in the nail business. It is essential to use the correct products to ensure that customers get the best and most long lasting result. Something that must be emphasised is that you do not need to be a qualified beautician to become a nail technician, it is completely separate to other beauty treatments.”

At the end of the course there will be a practical exam and trainees will receive AIT accreditation. Trainees who successfully complete the course will be qualified to set up their own nail business, or work as nail technicians in a beauty salon.

Naoise Martin said she is also very excited to be expanding. "We have been working on perfecting our courses to be the best they can be in the industry today, by adding two new courses to the academy, brow lamination and lash lift. Due to this expansion and the high volumes of bookings we now have the amazing trainer Michelle on board. Between the two of us we will bring you the very best in the market on upskilling in the industry."
