DVR provides practical and emotional support, advocacy and counselling, throughout all stages of dealing with an abusive relationship. These include meeting safety and support needs of clients with a range of interventions, before, during and after she leaves the relationship, when appropriate.

It also provides appropriate information and initiates referrals to agencies that can help; deliver a range of specific interventions which respect diversity, and takes into account the client’s nationality, ethnic group, and sexual orientation.

An important part of DVR’s work is to provide an opportunity to clients to avail of peer support, empowerment, and wellness through its educational support programmes.
