Burglaries in city at two city premises

On approximately 5.40 am on Wednesday morning August 4, two commercial premises were broken into at the Mulvoy Business Park, Sean Mulvoy Road, Galway.

In both incidents the front of the properties were damaged to gain entry. Two males were observed around the properties at the time of the burglaries. The first male is described as tall, of slim build wearing a two tone grey jacket and jeans. The second male is described as being of average height, wearing a black and grey hoodie with a white stripe on the sleeves, grey tracksuit pants and Nike air max runners with a distinctive red heel.

The Gardaí in Galway are asking anyone that may have been travelling in the Sean Mulvoy Road area between 5 am and 6 am on Wednesday morning the 4th of August, and who may have seen or know anything about the two males described or any vehicle acting suspiciously in this area, to please make contact.

Headford and Corrandulla raids

Just before 1 am on Tuesday morning August 10 the Community Centre at the Headford GAA Grounds, Headford, Co Galway was broken into. During the course of the break in damage was caused to the front of the Community Centre.

The Gardaí in Headford are asking anyone that may have seen anything unusual around the Headford GAA grounds in the early hours of Tuesday morning the 10th of August to contact then on 093-35412.

On Thursday, August 19 between 1pm and 6.30 pm a house at Bunatober, Corrandulla, Co Galway was broken into.

During the course of the burglary, a Tag 3000 watch and a gold locket (with HP engraved in the locket ) was taken from the property. The Gardaí are asking anyone who may have seen any person or vehicle acting strangely in the Corrandulla area last Thursday afternoon or anyone who may have been offered any of the stolen items for sale to contact Headford Garda Station on 093-35412.

Appeal for witnesses to Eyre Square assault

On Wednesday morning, August 4 at around 2am, a young man was with two friends at the rear of the Tourist Information kiosk at Eyre Square, Galway when it is alleged they were approached by a group of four or five males.

Following a brief verbal dispute it is alleged that this male was assaulted by one of the group and received significant injuries.

There were a large number of people in Eyre Square at the time and Gardaí are anxious to speak with anyone may have witnesses the altercation between the males or the alleged assault taking place.

Anyone with any information is asked is asked to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.

Witbnesses to road collision

On July 27 at approximately 4.20 pm, a black Skoda Octavia saloon car was stopped at the lights on the Seamus Quirke Road, Galway when it was struck from behind by a second vehicle described as a small black car.

This car failed to remain at the scene of the collision and drove off in the direction of Salthill/Knocknararra.

The Gardaí are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone with any information in relation to this small black car to contact the Galway Roads Policing Unit, Western Regional Headquarters on 091-337248.
