Underage teams maintain good form

Four Galway United and two Galway WFC were in action

Phil Trill's two promising Galway WFC outfits maintained their impressive starts to the national underage leagues at the weekend.

On Saturday goals from Ciara Coen and Isabelle Fitzpatrick ensured Galway defeated Sligo Rovers at U19 level.

The following afternoon in Dangan Anna Fahey (two ) and Saoirse Healey, who both featured in the WNL as substitutes against Wexford Youths, netted during a 3-0 victory over Athlone.

This Saturday Galway WFC’s U17s host Shamrock Rovers, with the U19s away to Cork City on Sunday.

Xavi Vazquez's Galway United U14s continue to chalk up encouraging results.

Jacob Carroll (two ), Graham Hurley, and Eoin Hannon rifled goals with Kyle Fitzgerald making a significant as United defeated Longford Town 4-1.

Against the same opposition Anthony O'Neill's U15 enjoyed a convincing 5-0 triumph at East United.

Jack Weesjes (two ), Tom Lydon, Eddie Silke, and Adam Lavelle bagged goals for O'Neill's charges.

On Friday Martin Devlin's U17s proved too strong for Limerick FC with James Lukua (two ), Ryan Nolan, Gerard O'Riordan, Matthew Thompson, and Hassan Diarrassouba scoring.

United's U19s lost 1-2 to Cobh Ramblers in Maree on Sunday with Mikey McCullagh registering a goal for Brendan O'Connor's team.

Another busy few days beckons with Galway United U15s away to Dundalk this evening. The U14s are away to St Patrick’s Athletic on Saturday, with the U17s home to Treaty United.

O’Neill’s U15s face St Patrick’s in Maree on Sunday with the U19s away to Bohemians.
