‘Property bubble’ will continue into the summer months

The Connacht Property Auction is noting the current surge in buyers is likely to continue into the summer months as the firm record levels of inquiries from buyers. The firm is encouraging property owners who are looking to sell their property that now is an excellent time to come to the market.

Before any property comes to the market, the auction team will agree a minimum reserve figure - giving the property owner total control over their minimum walkaway figure. Bidding must reach at least the reserve, and usually exceeds this figure until the highest bidder has secured the property. There is no cost to enter the auctions, so it allows vendors to proceed to market without any financial cost to do so.

Shane May, sales manager for The Connacht Property Auction, commented: “Latest Daft.ie figures show that the number of homes available to buy is down 34 per cent year-on-year and with the supply shortage, we are currently experiencing extremely strong inquiry levels on the majority of the properties we are offering. We have recorded a c95 per cent increase in inquiry levels versus 2020, with no sign of demand slowing down just yet.”

IAM Sold, which runs The Connacht Property Auction, is also holding a specialised national holiday home auction on July 15. Mr May confirmed that this special auction event will feature properties from around Connacht as well as the rest of Ireland, adding: “We are encouraging any buyers seeking to purchase a holiday home or coastal property to visit www.holidayhomepropertyauction.ie for properties of interest.”
