Billy Clery steps down as Galway WFC manager

The Claddagh native was in charge for four and a half years

Billy Clery has stepped down as Galway WFC manager.

The former Galway United star helped to develop several emerging players in the west of Ireland during his time in charge.

A Galway WFC statement said: "During his four and a half years as Galway WFC boss Billy has helped to promote and develop talented footballers in the western region. Galway WFC would like to thank Billy for his distinguished service and unending commitment to improving the club both on and off the field.

"The Board will meet in the coming days to appoint a new manager."

Galway WFC face Athlone Town in the WNL at Eamonn Deacy Park on Saturday afternoon.
