Anna Mullarkey features in new short film series from TG4

Film will give insight into the work and creative process of Galway vocalist and composer

ANNA MULLARKEY, the brilliant Galway vocalist and composer will be featured in one of the episodes of a new series of short-films being streamed on the TG4 player.

Samhlú - Croí Cruthaitheach, a cultural partnership between TG4 and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media’s Creative Ireland Programme, is a season of 12 commissioned abstract short-films featuring artists and creatives can be viewed on https://nasc.tg4.tv/Samhlú-CroíCruthaitheach

The short films are a visual and audio experience depicting the work and artistic process of the creative being featured, as well as highlighting and celebrating “unique and vibrant artists, makers and doers, based in our towns and villages”.

Anna Mullarkey is from Knocknacarra and is part of the independent Galway label Strange Brew. She writes scores, and arranges, records, and mixes soundtracks for film, documentary, and theatre. A co-founder and co-writer of the band My Fellow Sponges for seven years, she has since released three solo singles, ‘Baby Dragon’, ‘Sometimes’, and ‘Alright’, and an EP, Spéir, funded by Galway 2020 which receives regular airplay on Irish radio. In 2019, she performed at the launch of Galway as the 2020 European Capital of Culture.
