Fahy calls for Menlo and Castlegar traffic measures

Traffic calming measures on School Road in Castlegar and Monument Road in Menlo are needed as there are “major problem on both roads with speeding and being used as rat-runs”.

This is the view of Fine Gael Galway City East candidate Frank G Fahy, who is calling on the Galway City Council to introduce the traffic calming measures. He said residents on both roads “can’t even get out their own gates and going for a walk is totally out of the question”, due to the rat running.

He is also calling for the city council to undertake an audit of gullies in the Sandyvale Lawns, Castlelawn, Tirellan, and Ballinfoyle estates. Mr Fahy also wants to see road sweeping in the areas.

“There is a lot of debris and leaf litter, particularly in Curralee and Sandyvale Lawn,” he said. “It is imperative that leaf litter be removed as it is clogging up gullies.”
