Upskill or learn to drive with GRETB Training Centre

Free driver training and door security courses are now available with the GRETB Training Centre.

Due to Covid restrictions courses are online with practical training elements running in Galway city and county and Roscommon.

Learner drivers

Delivery driver courses will start on November 16 and on May 10, 2021, in Tuam, and on January 25, 2021, in Galway city. These 10-week courses offer learners the opportunity to obtain the full category B car licence and gain the skills necessary to work as a delivery driver. A mandatory entry requirement is a learner permit for category B car, which must be at least three months old by the start date of the course.

Experienced drivers

Bus driving courses, HGV rigid truck, and HGV artic truck courses are scheduled over the coming months – see the accompanying advertisement for start dates.

Forklift employment skills courses are five weeks in duration. Certification includes RTITB Counterbalance, Reach and Power Pallet Truck Certification, Manual Handling, Safe Pass, and City & Guilds certification for Introduction to Health and Safety Awareness in the Workplace.

Door security and guarding skills

This is a 10-week full time online course which offers learners the opportunity to obtain a PSA (Private Security Authority ) licence. The course includes QQI certification for customer service, door security procedures, and guarding skills.

All courses adhere to the Government guidelines on Covid-19.
