The Clockworks cover Oasis

Galway band record version of 'Some Might Say' to mark 25th anniversary of (What's The Story) Morning Glory?

THE CLOCKWORKS, one of the most exciting bands to have emerged from Galway in recent years, have covered Oasis' 'Some Might Say' to mark 25 years of (What's The Story ) Morning Glory?

The Clockworks - James McGregor (vocals/guitar ), Sean Connelly (guitar ), Damian Greaney (drums ), and Tom Freeman (bass ) - have joined forces with eight other acts and a 60-strong school choir, for this project organised by Hot Press.

The #MorningGlory25 Series project, marking the album's silver anniversary, involves Happy Out, Dea Matrona, Somebody's Child, Shaefri, Touts, The Clockworks, Steo Wall, Crome Yellow, Nile St James, and St. Andrew's College Choir, Dublin, each covering one song from the album. Each performance is viewable on the Hot Press YouTube channel.

Since its release through Creation Records in October 1995, Oasis's second album, (What's The Story ) Morning Glory? has come to be considered one of the seminal records of the 1990s. As the UK's best-selling album of the decade, it spent 10 weeks at No 1 on the Albums Chart, and fought off stiff competition from Blur and Radiohead to take home the award for British Album of The Year at the 1996 BRITs.

Oasis were signed to the Creation table, founded and run by Alan McGee, who, last year, signed The Clockworks to his new label, Creation23. See https://creation23.co.uk.
