What is your idea of perfect happiness?

A sunny day, a huge studio, good coffee, and lots of great people to collaborate with.

Which historical figure do you most identify with?

All the women who stepped up and stood out throughout history.

Which living person do you most admire?

Linda Kavanagh - activist, Feminist, inspiring truth speaker and equal rights crusader.

Which is the trait you most deplore in yourself?

I'm an art-workaholic, which means that my work-life-relax balance is very unbalanced.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Always getting my hair done by a professional.

What is your favourite journey?

The journey to the airport is always exciting, but now with being confined to Ireland it is the journey through the back roads of north Galway.

On what occasion do you lie?

It is not lying, it’s embellishing the truth to enhance a story.

Which living person do you most despise?

Anyone that incites hatred and prejudice towards other people.

What or who is the greatest love of your life?

My parents, no matter what daft idea or adventure I want to pursue, they are always supportive.

When and where were you happiest?

Reflecting on all my adventures, I actually think it’s right now and right here.

Which talent would you most like to have?

Time travel…and the ability to speak all languages.

What is your current state of mind?

Currently sitting in the Galway Arts Centre, with the art I created during a global pandemic up in an exhibition, my mind is tired, happy, and proud.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Managing to still be a visual artist in a world that makes it difficult to be an artist.

If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what do you think it would be?

A squirrel in an iridescent cape.

What is your most treasured possession?

My glasses!

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?

Wet shoes and socks on a cold day.

What is your favourite occupation?

Creatively collaborating with other people.

What is the quality you most like in a man?

Feminist.

What is the quality you most like in a woman?

The ability to be undeniable them-self.

Who are your favourite writers?

I’m dyslexic, so not an avid reader, but my favourite visual artists are Pipilotti Rist and Laure Prouvost.

What is your motto?

Be Sound, optimistic and don’t forget your roots.

Jojo is a visual and collaborative artist from Creevaghbawn, Tuam. Her exhibition She Crashes In and Fizzles Out, opened at the Galway Arts Centre as part of Baboró International Arts Festival for Children.
