48 Hour Film Challenge goes virtual for 2020

Applications for entry to competition will still be accepted until October 9 at 5pm

LITTLE CINEMA and Galway City of Film's 48 Hour Challenge is taking place again this year, but in a virtual fashion instead of a physical screening at the Town Hall Theatre.

The 48 Hour Challenge will be held virtually via a live stream on Sunday October 25. It will see teams from all over Ireland make a five minute film in just 48 hours, which will incorporate a line, a prop, and a genre. There will also be a live introduction via Zoom from the filmmaking teams.

The Best Film will win the first prize of €500, with prizes also for Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Special Effects, Best Use of Prop, and Best Use of Line.

Applications for film-making teams are still being accepted until October 9 at 5pm. Team spaces are limited and can be booked via a deposit of €50 which will be returned upon completion of the challenge. For more information, rules, and an application form, email [email protected].
