NUIG SU seek applications for Annual Charity Fund

Students introduce new Charity Challenge which will take place from October to May

NUI Galway Students’ Union has opened applications for charities wishing to benefit from its annual fundraising campaign for 2020/21.

Last year students took part in cake sales, table quizzes, comedy gigs, pet farm visits, and collection days to raise €10,000 for Domestic Violence Response and Sexual Health West.

This year the SU will be introducing its new Charity Challenge which will involve students completing a different challenge each month during term from October to May. Application forms for the 2020/21 fund are available from The closing date is 5pm Thursday September 10.

“Despite the constant cutbacks and daily challenges we all face, NUI Galway students have a very proud tradition of raising money for charities," said SU president Pádraic Toomey. "Charity Challenge will see students will take on a different challenge that will be adaptable to the challenges of living with Covid-19."
