The Stunning - live from the Róisín Dubh

A live music night across Ireland to raise funds for Minding Creative Minds and AIST

THE STUNNING, one of the greatest bands to ever come out of Galway, and one of the most loved rock outfits in Ireland, play live at the Róisín Dubh this weekend, in an event to be broadcast on RTÉ.

Songs From An Empty Room will be broadcast on RTÉ 2, RTÉ 2FM, and the RTÉ Player, this Saturday, July 25, from 8.30pm to 10.45pm. The Stunning and R&B/alt-pop singer Fia Moon will broadcast live from the Róisín Dubh.

This year sees The Stunning mark the 30th Anniversary of their classic debut album, Paradise In The Picturehouse, which is available on vinyl again for the first time since 1990 from www.thestunning.net Fia Moon has been compared to Halsey, Jhene Aiko, Banks, and Snoh Aalegra. Nialler9 called her "a promising new artist...bringing something new and diverse to the Irish music scene".

The show will also feature performances from James Vincent McMorrow, Lisa McHugh, Picture This, Sorcha Richardson, The Academic, The Coronas, and others, from Dublin, Cork, Limerick, and Killarney.

The broadcast will also feature insights from behind the scenes of Ireland’s event industry and the people who make live events happen. It is presented by RTÉ, and EPIC, the Event Production Industry Covid-19 Working Group, which represents 3,500 (full time ) and 15,000 (part time ) event industry workers.

Raising funds for charity

The aim of the event is to generate awareness of those working in the live events industry, whose livelihoods have been affected by Covid 19, and to help raise funds for Minding Creative Minds and the Association of Irish Stage Technicians.

Minding Creative Minds is a 24/7, free wellbeing and support programme for event industry professionals and contractors including production, lighting, and sound engineers, site crew, event control, musicians, songwriters, and artist managers. MCM provides free counselling services, in addition to free financial, legal and career advice for events industry personnel.

The AIST.ie Hardship Fund is available to members and non-members who work in any crew related role in the Irish live events industry. The fund is managed and distributed by AIST.
