Funky fashion face masks from Stitches

Stitches Clothing Alterations and Drycleaning Service in Eyre Street has been proudly serving customers from Galway and surroundings for 40 years.

With the onset of Covid19 and temporary shutdown of practically the whole country, its owner Shantalla-native Stephen O Brien figured there would be a strong possibility of people wanting to wear some form of face protection going forward.

"With PPE being at a premium throughout the globe and so desperately needed by our great HSE staff, we decided not to put pressure on that supply chain by sourcing face masks abroad, so we decided to make our own. So in conjunction with the staff we came up with Funky Fashion Face Masks," he said.

"These are non-surgical 100% cotton masks, double sheeted, with funky patterns. They come with a slot on the side to allow you insert your own filter; and a squeeze feature above the nose for a better fit

"The masks are reusable, can be washed and ironed and are made in Galway and therefore they support local jobs and businesses," he added.

They are available online: www.stitches.ie; on Facebook: stitchesclothingalterations; and on Instagram: stitchesclothingalterations
