Gaeltacht Giveaway at St Anthony’s & Claddagh Credit Union

St Anthony’s & Claddagh Credit Union just opened the competition doors on their Gaeltacht Giveaway. This competition gives one second level student a contribution of up to €1,000 to attend a Gaeltacht College of their choice this year.

This is the second year of the new Gaeltacht Giveaway and it was set up to support students in their endeavour to engage with the Irish language. Each year, the credit union runs a College bursary competition, #UniCash, for Leaving Certificate Students to win one of nine bursaries of €1,500 each.

Marketing Officer Lisa Stewart says that they felt the Gaeltacht Giveaway was a natural addition to helping students further their education but this time in the Irish language.’

“All secondary school members of SACU are eligible to enter the giveaway and the winner is picked at random. The Gaeltacht Giveaway can be used to cover fees of up to €1,000 and will be a great opportunity for the winning student.

Last year Katie Dooley from Moycullen who attends St Enda’s College was our first ever winner. Katie said on winning… ‘Tá áthas an domhain orm. I’m delighted to have this opportunity to go to the Gaeltacht. Táim ag súil go more casadh le daoine nua – I’m excited to meet new people and develop my Irish, agus beidh mé níos fearr ag cashaint na Gaeilge taréis mo chúrsa. Go raibh mile maith agaibh St Anthony’s & Claddagh Credit Union.”

Be sure to get your applications in before 5pm on March 27 either through www.sacu.ie or apply in branch, for your chance to be their second Gaeltacht Giveaway Winner.
