Kevin Burke Tyres depot in Gort is a vital part of the company's continued expansion in Galway.

Situated on Crowe Street, Gort, it is one of three retail outlets located in County Galway, serving a wide community that differs from the city base.

The Gort manger Paddy says the depot offers all the regular services and more, particularly specialist advice and services to Gort's agricultural hinterland.

In addition to tyres for regular vehicles, the Gort depot offers a full range of suitable tyres and wheels for commercial and agricultural vehicles. Twenty per cent of its business is for the agricultural sector, and KBT has the ability to supply new tyres ranging from Starmaxx to Michelin, if required. In addition, its reconditioning wheel service includes shot-blasting, etch priming and powder-coating, which can be matched to any manufacturer's specifications or any colour choice.

KBT Gort depot boasts five fully trained staff members, led by Paddy who has been working for KBT since he was a 14-years-old studying at Athenry College. On leaving school, he spent four years working full time at both the Athenry and Galway depots, before moving to Gort two and a half years ago.

Selling, fitting, and repairing all types of tyres are a main feature of the Gort depot, in addition to stocking and sourcing brands. The depot boasts some 20 different brands, including top quality Starmaxx and BF Goodrich.

"Quality service and competitive prices" are key to the business, while all staff at the Gort office attend regular meetings with all KBT offices "to make sure everyone is on the same page".

Paddy says it is important to work with the clients when they are looking for new tyres, and he has seen a change in tyre preference in recent years.

"There are people who will always go for budget tyres, but we would encourage drivers to look at mid range tyres which are safer, offer similar mileage and have a better grip, while not breaking the bank."

Kevin Burke Tyres Gort is open 8.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 8.30am to 5pm Saturday.
