FLOOR LAMP? Check. Big suit? Check. A tape they’d like to play? Check. You have seen the concert film and heard the album, now it is time to see the live band tribute show.
Playback are coming to the Róisín Dubh on Friday March 6 at 8pm to perform their acclaimed re-enactment of Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense concert and film, where they will perform such great songs as 'Psycho Killer', 'Once in a Lifetime', 'Life During Wartime', and 'Burning Down The House'.
The band are Justin McCann (vocals, keys ), Cathal Farrelly (vocals, guitar, Big Suit ), Jack Hussey (lead guitar ), Gordon Dunning (bass ), Mark Finlay (drums ), Paula Size (vocals ), Karen Williams (vocals ) and Ronan Slater (percussion ). "Playback is an 'album tribute' band," they said. "We cover classic albums in their entirety, then round out our sets with some of the artists' greatest hits. Stop Making Sense includes every song from the film as well as classic visual moments like the tape recorder, the lamp dance, projections and the Big Suit."
