The Connemara Coast Hotel is celebrating after restaurant supervisor Kresimir Beric was chosen as the IHF Connacht Region Employee of the Year for 2020.

Kresimir Beric answered the call when he was recruited from Croatia in November 2018. Having worked in the industry there for nearly five years he was excited at the prospect of starting a new life in the West of Ireland. Starting as a waiter, it wasn’t long before he stood out as a leader in the team. In March 2019 he was promoted to Restaurant Supervisor.

“He has excelled at not only delivering the highest standards of service to our discerning guests, but also leads by example and trains and mentors a full team of young food and beverage assistants,” commented hotel GM, Jonathan Kay.

Like all young supervisors, Kresimir has a strong work ethic, is always impeccably groomed and provides outstanding customer service and pays attention to the minutest detail.

“But what really sets him apart is his eagerness to learn. He comes to managers and looks for feedback and asks what he could do better to improve and learn from situations”.

While there are many outstanding candidates in our beautiful Galway, one of the most hospitable regions of the world, we believe Kresimir is truly one to watch in the hotel and catering industry. Kresimir was chosen as the winner of the IHF Connacht Region, beating off competition from seven other Connacht candidates.
