Where has Small Crane scheme money gone? asks Mayor

The Mayor of Galway Pádraig Conneely has slated City Hall for withdrawing the €3.5 million fund allocated for the Small Crane Enhancement Scheme.

At Monday’s city council meeting, the Mayor was informed by the council’s director of services Tom Connell that the €3.5 million has now been “re-located”. Mayor Conneely asked to where it had been re-located but was not satisfied with any of the answers he was given.

“I suppose it is gone into a big black hole with no accountability,” said the Mayor. “I will be demanding a full account of the €3.5 million.”
