Green candidate to launch General Election campaign

The official launch of Roscommon-Galway Green Party representative Julie O’ Donoghue’s General Election campaign will take place on Sunday January 12 at 4pm in JJ Harlow’s Bar, Roscommon.

Refreshments will be served and the campaign will be launched by Catherine Martin TD, Deputy Leader of the Green Party.

Ms O’ Donoghue is encouraging people to attend the launch of what she says will be “an exciting campaign to get the first Green Party General Election candidate elected in Roscommon-Galway.”

“We recently established the first ever Green Party branch in this constituency so I would encourage anyone who is looking for a real change in politics to come along and find out more about getting involved.

“Most of us know that the debate about the climate crisis is over. Rather than resisting change, I believe that our focus now needs to be on planning ahead to ensure that transitioning to a green economy is done in a fair way that protects people and communities and that our region is well positioned to benefit from the opportunities that going green will present.

“I will be delighted to welcome anyone who would like to get involved in any way in getting a progressive, Green TD elected to represent this constituency,” she concluded. The event will be family-friendly, so babies and children are also very welcome.
