Crowe and Ó Cuív selected to contest General Election

Fianna Fáil members in Galway West have selected Cllr Ollie Crowe and Éamon Ó Cuív TD to contest the next General Election. The selection convention took place last week in the Galway Bay Hotel in Salthill.

Speaking afterwards, Cllr Crowe said he was delighted to be selected by Fianna Fáil members in Galway West.

“This is a particularly challenging time for our country, and for the west of Ireland in particular. Galway has become a victim of Fine Gael’s failed housing and health policies.

“With unacceptably long waiting lists for routine procedures and record overcrowding figures, University Hospital Galway is creaking at the seams,” he said.

“The housing crisis is showing no signs of improving in the city as rents continue to rise and families become more and more squeezed.

“Fine Gael’s flawed policies are simply not working and people in Galway are paying the price. I am looking forward to an enthusiastic and energetic campaign and will be working alongside Deputy Ó Cuív and our councillors to ensure that we secure two seats in this constituency so that Fianna Fáil can implement its plans after the next election,” he concluded.
