Welsh choirs to sing for hospice memorial concerts

Concerts to take place in St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church

TWO LEADING Welsh choirs - Côr Mebion Ardudwy male choir and Cana-Mi-Geib - are coming to Galway to perform two special memorial concerts in support of Galway Hospice.

The award-winning Côr Mebion Ardudwy male choir, and the Cana-Mi-Geib female choir, will perform at Barna Church on Thursday October 31 and St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church on Friday 1 November. Both shows start at 8pm.

Founded in 1953, Côr Meibion Ardudwy (‘The Men of Harlech’ ) sing pop, folk, sacred music, classical, and Welsh song. Cana-Mi-Gei [pictured below] sing traditional and contemporary pieces in Welsh and in other languages. They have won first prize in the Women's Choirs Competition at the Chester Music Festival three times.

Tickets are €10 (children under 12 go in free ) from Páraic (087 - 6501015 ), Galway Hospice (091 - 770868 ), OMG@Zhivago (091 - 509960 ) and at the door. All funds raised will go to assisting Galway Hospice in providing specialist care services to adults and children with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses throughout Galway, as well as providing support to their families and carers.
