Gardai seek witnesses to Quay Street assault

Gardai are seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a serious assault which occurred on September 30 between approximately 6.15pm and 6.30pm on Quay Street.

The injured party was entering Jurys car park when his pathway was obstructed by three men aged between mid 30s and 40s. One of the males kicked the injured party’s car and refused to move. The three males then walked in the direction of Quay Street.

The injured party had contacted An Garda and followed suspects at a distance to assist gardai in identifying these males. One of the males described as tall and slim walked back towards the injured party and punched him in the face a number of times. The men fled in the direction of Middle Street. The injured party was taken to hospital and treated for a number of injuries.
