THE EVER innovative Vodafone Comedy Carnival hit on a good one some years back with the Wild Atlantic Wahey - a comedy themed tour of Connemara, busing 100 fans to venues along the Wild Atlantic Way for pints and performances by top festival comedians.

The line-ups and locations are top secret, but in recent years Reginald D Hunter appeared in An Spidéal, Milton Jones in Moycullen, and Phill Jupitus in Padraicins, Furbo. The first year was a massive success and has continued to sell out in subsequent years.

The Wild Atlantic Wahey is a pub crawl where you do not have to use your legs, the laughs are provided, and at the end of it you are poured back into the bus and returned to where you started. On board each bus is an MC to keep the whole thing rolling along. The only catch is that tickets are extremely limited. Do not miss this bus.

Comedy Club Crawl

Maintaining that sense of mystery but keeping it in Galway city, will be the Comedy Club Crawl. This involves all the fun of a top class comedy club, combined with the craic of a pub crawl, and the mystery of a blind date. What could possibly go wrong?

To take part in the city centre shenanigans, buy a ticket. You will be directed to the first venue where you have a drink (that part is at your own expense! ), see a comedian, then head to the next venue, do the same thing, and repeat for the third venue. There will be an MC to hold it all together, and, like a Pied Piper of comedy, will guide any Galway newbies to the next destination.

While the line-up is a mystery, given the calibre of acts taking part at the festival, you will be treated to some great comedy. Once again, early purchase is advised. Tickets are available via www.vodafonecomedycarnival.com
