Galway Ladies favourites to overcome Waterford

Tim Rabbitte’s Galway side enters this Saturday’s All-Ireland quarter final at Pearse Park, Longford, as hot favourites when they face Waterford. Throw-in for this game is at 2.45pm.

A semi-final place against Mayo or Armagh awaits the victors. A potential semi-final of Galway v Mayo is a mouth-watering prospect following two titanic clashes in the Connacht final and replay.

Galway will be hoping to avoid a poor start like they suffered against Kerry a few weeks ago. They will need to assert themselves and snuff out the Waterford challenge early on.

Olivia Divilly and Tracey Leonard have been Galway’s star players to date. Divilly’s work-rate and overall athleticism have caught the eye, while Leonard is as clinical a forward as there is in the game. Galway will be hoping she can bring her good form into this Saturday’s contest.
