Hoare calls for ‘urgent works’ to city roundabouts

“Urgent works” must be carried out on the city roundabouts, many of which have been neglected and are now overgrown with grass, according to Fine Gael city councillor, Eddie Hoare.

Cllr Hoare has called on the Galway City Council to “urgently begin works” on the upkeep of the roundabouts. He said the Browne Roundabout at Corrib Park was one “of particular concern”, while temporary works needed to be carried out on the Kirwan Roundabout, ahead of redevelopment works on that site.

“This is the first landmark tourists see when visiting our city and it has been totally neglected,” he said. “The Browne Roundabout is also in need of landscaping. The grass has not been cut in months and it is very overgrown.”
