Theatre57 hosts public discussion on cultural infrastructure

Talk to take place as part of Galway Theatre Festival

THEATRE57 WILL host a free public discussion on how a village, town, city, or region can support its creative community, and vice versa, as part of this year’s Galway Theatre Festival.

The talk takes place this Saturday [May 11] at 1pm in the O’Donoghue Theatre, NUI Galway. Speakers include Elizabeth Whyte from the Wexford Artist Hub; Mick Smyth from Mayo Art Squad; and Dr Pat Collins (NUIG ) whose areas of expertise include creative economies, creative industries and culture-led development policies.

Panelists will discuss the formation of cultural hubs in regional areas, government-funded initiatives which support artists in the community, and theories of cultural infrastructure and planning. The discussion is open to all with no booking required. For more information see www.galwaytheatrefestival.com
