Be part of Europe’s biggest film jury

Junior Film Fleadh seeks entrants for Young Audience Award

GALWAY TEENAGERS who are passionate about film and who would like the chance to be part of Europe’s biggest film jury, should check out an event coming to the Pálás Cinema next month.

The Galway Film Fleadh is partnering with the European Film Academy to take part in the EFA’s Young Audience Award. On Sunday May 5 at the Pálás, from 9.30am to 6pm, three nominated films will be screened.

An audience of young people will act as a jury and vote for their favourite film. The event is also taking part in other cities across Europe, with all participating cities interacting via video conference and social media. Film professionals and educators will lead the audience in discussions about the films. The event will end with the European wide vote and declaration of the winner.

The Fleadh is seeking Galwegians aged from 12 to 14 to take part. Taking part is free and selected jury members will participate in a workshop on film criticism two weeks before the screening. To apply to be a jury member see https://junior.galwayfilmfleadh.com/efayaa.
