Get into the drop zone — Donaghpatrick NS launches major fundraiser

Donaghpatrick National School launched the new nationwide show 20k Drop as their major fundraiser for this year in Queally’s Bar Caherlistrane last week. The 20k drop is run nationwide by Pallas Marketing and is similar to the TV show “The Million Pound Drop”. Each of the eight contestants selected will receive €2500 and must place their money on each of eight correct answers. Having answered the eight questions, the contestants keep the remaining amount.

Principal of Donaghpatrick N.S Ms Muireann Cradock said they are delighted with the response from the local companies who have come on board as major sponsors and advertisers.

“All sponsors and advertisers will avail of on-screen advertising on the night of the show and will be promoted strongly by us on the night and on our local directory through our website, www.donaghpatrickns.ie .”

Muireann went on to say “the proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards converting our pitch area into astro-turf as this area cannot be used from October right through to April every school year.

“It will make our playing area much safer through the winter and spring. It will also increase the children’s fitness levels paving way for good habits which is essential going into teenage years and adulthood to ensure the best chance of health and well-being.”

Seán and Matt Keane, well-known singers from Caherlistrane, launched the event by buying the first tickets at the launch event.

Those in attendance at the launch night got a sneak preview of the show. Tickets for the show which will be held on April 13 are priced at €20 for a single ticket. There will be a discount for families or groups with four tickets available for €50. They can be purchased from any committee member or by contacting 087-2445277. Tickets are available now.

Tickets are expected to sell out in advance of this most entertaining and fun-filled show and people are encouraged to purchase their tickets early. The principal paid special thanks to the hard working committee, staff and parents for all their help and said if any company wished to support the event to contact any committee member or email [email protected].
