Flash Harry to bring 'a kind of magic' to the Town Hall

A celebration of the enduring music of Freddie Mercury and Queen

Irreplaceable and utterly unique: the late, and very great Freddie Mercury.

Irreplaceable and utterly unique: the late, and very great Freddie Mercury.

WITH THE QUEEN/Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody enjoying great success among cinema goers - as well as generating controversy - and Rami Malek's outstanding performance as Freddie deservedly winning him a Golden Globe, it seems Queen are all the rage again.

Yet, Queen have never really gone away. Freddie Mercury remains a rock legend and gay icon almost 30 years after his death from AIDs; the band's music continues to be loved by millions, and is being discovered by younger generations; and, like The Beatles, Queen have become part and parcel of the fabric of popular culture.

Given all this, Queen fans will be making their way to the Town Hall Theatre on Saturday February 2 to see the much loved Irish Queen tribute band Flash Harry, present their show A Celebration of Queen Live.

Led by the irrepressible Harry Hamilton, who has won acclaim for the energy, enthusiasm, passion, and showmanship he puts into his performances as Freddie Mercury, the band will deliver such classics as 'Radio Gaga', 'We Will Rock You', 'We Are The Champions', 'Who Wants to Live Forever', and of course 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.

Flash Harry have been going strong for more than 20 years and have played Belfast's Grand Opera House, Odyssey Arena, and Waterfront Hall; Dublin’s 3 Arena; London's Royal Albert Hall; and have headlined the International Queen Fan Club annual convention numerous times. Outside of Flash Harry, Harry Hamilton is involved in politics, having run for a Westminster seat in 2010 for the UUP, polling 10,639 votes. He later ran for a Stormont seat for the Alliance Party in 2016.

Doors are at 8pm. Tickets are from the Town Hall Theatre (091 - 569777, www.tht.ie ).
