Sailing school proposed for south Galway

Plans have been lodged with the Galway County Council seeking permission to build a new water sports recreation and activity centre beside Lough Derg.

Brendan and Irene Kemple have sought permission to develop the centre on a site in Rosmore beside the Woodford River. The proposal includes plans to build a sailing school, a marina, fishing facilities, and residential units as part of the facility.

The application is for a water sports recreation facility and activity centre including catering, toilets, shower, and Internet facilities, ancillary accommodation comprising a 26 bedroom unit on one block, eight detached three-bedroom single storey, and four four-bedroom one and a half storey residential units, fishing platforms along the existing bank of the Woodford River, a service building, and a 37 berth off-river marina, along with waste water treatment facilities and ancillary services.
