Frank Pig Says Hello

Acclaimed stage version of Pat McCabe's The Butcher Boy comes to the Town Hall Theatre

FRANK MCCABE'S 1992 novel The Butcher Boy was both hilarious and tragic, one of the most acclaimed Irish novels of the era. Its stage version, Frank Pig Says Hello, is equally celebrated.

Twenty-five years after its first ground-breaking tour, Frank Pig Says Hello returns, and as part of this current tour, comes to the Town Hall Theatre on Friday November 2 at 8pm. This production stars Darragh Byrne and John Ruddy, best known for his Youtube video animations, and is directed by Joe O’Byrne.

Set in a small Irish town in the 1960s, this is a funny, yet heartbreaking, evocation of childhood and adolescence gone wrong. Pat McCabe and Joe O’Byrne collaborated on the original Frank Pig Says Hello production for the 1992 Dublin Theatre Festival where it won Best Production, before embarking on a world tour that began in Monaghan and concluded in New York.

The play is not suited to under 13s. Tickets are available from the Town Hall (091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie ).
