See Casablanca on the big screen

Classic Humprey Bogart film to be screened at the Pálás

"OF ALL the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine." "We'll always have Paris." "Play it, Sam." It is one of the greatest films of all time, one of the most loved, and filled with memorable quotes. It is Casablanca.

Casablanca (1942 ), starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, and Peter Lorre, is a love story where an American expat (Bogart ) must choose between his love for a woman (Bergman ), and helping her and her husband, a Resistance leader, escape from Vichy-controlled Casablanca to continue his fight against the Nazis.

This classic film will be the first in a new series of 'I can’t believe you haven’t seen….', presented by Strange Brew, and screened in the Pálás Cinema. Selected by Gugai from the Róisín Dubh, films in this series are "cultural touchstones, great landmarks of cinema, in one way or another, that you may have have missed, through no fault of your own. Without having seen them, your life is incomplete."

Casablanca will be screened at 7pm on Thursday August 30. Tickets are available from www.palas.ie
