The Galway Bay 10k is set to take place again this October, and for those who would like to give it a go, but need help preparing, Don Naughton Fitness has it covered.
He has once again teamed up with ACT for Meningitis to deliver the "eight weeks to 10k" running and fitness programme for aspiring runners who would like to train for and take part in the Galway Bay 10k with Team ACT on October 6.
Speaking at the launch of the programme, Don Naughton says the programme is 100 per cent suitable for total beginners, with zero fitness needed to start".
ACT for Meningitis founder Siobhan Carroll says this year is the 10th anniversary of the loss of her beautiful daughter Aoibhe to meningitis.
"We are asking all our amazing past, present and new members of Team ACT to consider joining us to remember Aoibhe and mark this anniversary by taking on the challenge of "10k for 10 years", and in doing so, help other families in Ireland who have been affected by this life-changing disease."
The free training programe begins on Saturday August 18 at 10am in Salthill Park and will take place each Saturday until the race on October 6.
