What do you think of the Dubs? Now's your chance to air you views

What do you think of the Dubs?

It is a serious question, and an important one too because the Dublin Chamber is coming to Galway next Thursday to find out what Galwegians want to happen to Dublin in the future.

"We know you’d probably like to see Dublin knocked off their perch in Croke Park this summer," Dublin Chambers says. "And that’s OK. We’ve had a good run. But we want to delve a little deeper than that."

Last year, Dublin Chamber presented 'A Vision for Dublin 2050', which identified what the citizens of Dublin wanted their capital city to be like in future. It was based on a survey carried out in Dublin with some 20,000 responses received.

According to the chamber, the responses allowed it to identify what needed to happen in Dublin for it to become a home city that offers a "high quality of life, is a good place in which to work, and an attractive place to visit, both for current and future generations".

But, says the chamber, it recognises the future of Dublin is not just a matter for Dubliners.

"Dublin is Ireland’s capital city - your capital city. And we want you to help shape its future," the chamber says.

"So if you have a view on how Dublin needs to change to work better for the country, come along and share your views at our free event in IBM in Dangan on Thursday July 12."

To book a place, visit www.dublinchamber.ie, and Galwegians who cannot attend, can share their views on Twitter using the hashtag #DublinConversation.
