Water Babies is now taking bookings for the spring term starting in February.
The term runs for 10 weeks with weekday classes held in the nearby Carlton Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe.
Water Babies is run by Jamie and Lisa Cobbe and currently teaches more than 850 babies and toddlers per week in Galway, Mayo, Limerick and Sligo.
The Water Babies programme is designed to make the most of a baby’s natural affinity with water. It teaches confidence and safety, using specialist techniques that see many swimming short distances from as young as 30 months.
Baby swimming is an entirely safe and gentle activity which helps parents bond with their baby while giving them water confidence and safety skills. Swimming from birth stimulates brain and muscle development in babies in a safe, relaxed way.
Babies absolutely love the fun and freedom of being in water, and sharing this experience with your little one is one of the most exciting and rewarding things you could ever do. Using word association, movement, games and songs, teachers create sessions that are informative and heaps of fun.
The Water Babies swimming course is different to traditional swimming lessons. Water Babies only uses warm water pools (30° or above ) so babies can join classes from birth and immunisations are not required in order to start classes. And while the emphasis is on having fun, the course is carefully structured. Each one of the lesson plans is worked out to progress learning and understanding.
The main aim is to enable your child to be incredibly confident and happy in the water right from the word go, in an environment that is safe and enjoyable for both parent and child.
