‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ returns to Dean Crowe

Athlone Musical Society will present Jesus Christ Superstar in 2018, which will return to the Dean Crow Theater after a 15 year absence.

Jesus Christ Superstar first appeared on the Dean Crowe Stage in 1984. Frank Mc Namara (of Late Late show fame ) and Eamon Campbell (of Dubliners fame ) were members of the orchestra.

Robert Farrant and Liami Doherty starred as Jesus and Judas, with Terry Jackson as Pilot and Ray Collins as Herod. The popular show was last on the Athlone stage in 2003, and after 15 years the society is proud to once again bring it to Athlone audiences.

Auditions for the cast will take place on Wednesday, October 27, at 7pm in the Dean Crowe Theater. A workshop will take place prior to the auditions on Sunday, October 22, at 1pm in St Paul’s National School, Athlone. Anyone interested in taking part in the show can meet the production team and go through some of the audition pieces.

Audition information is available at www.athlonemusicalsociety.com New members to the society are always welcome.
