Pieta House partners with Pint Aid for December fundraising campaign

Pieta House, the charity that offers free counselling to people experiencing suicidal ideation, those who engage in self-harm, and those who have been bereaved by suicide, is teaming up with Pint Aid in a worthwhile fundraising campaign this December.

Pint Aid is a crowd-funding movement for charities and causes. Every month they raise funds for a different charity by encouraging the public to drink responsibly. Potential donors are asked to have one less pint per week and donate the value of that pint (€5 ) to their charity partners, so people donate €20 for the month.

For the December campaign, Pieta House and Pint Aid are working with some of Ireland’s most recognized corporate brands to support their fundraising target of €12,000. Every €1,000 raised for Pieta House can provide support and life-saving therapy for someone experiencing suicidal ideation. The proposed target would equate to 12 lives saved this Christmas.

“We are happy to team up with Pint Aid this month to raise much-needed funds for our services,” said Pieta House CEO, Brian Higgins. “Christmas can be a difficult time for people, so if anyone is generous enough to choose to donate to Pieta House instead of having an extra drink then we would of course welcome that.”

Pint Aid director Tony Fernandez commented: “We are honoured to partner with Pieta House and allow the wonderful Irish public to show their support for this brilliant charity. Please think of the difference you can make with the price of a pint and help us save 12 lives this Christmas.”
