Naughten encourages applications for €9m arts and culture scheme

Minister Denis Naughten is encouraging local organisations to consider submitting applications under the Arts and Culture Capital Scheme 2016.

This new €9m capital investment scheme for arts and culture centres will run from 2016-2018 and applications can be made until noon on September 16, 2016.

“This is a very important scheme for such centres, many of which require upgrading works to be carried out,” said Minister Naughten.

“This is the ideal opportunity for those existing centres to apply for capital funding to enhance the community facilities they offer.”

The scheme is broken down into the following three streams: Stream 1 is aimed at refurbishment and upgrade of facilities; Stream 2 will offer grants for larger enhancement, expansion, or refurbishment projects involving construction works; while Stream 3 will be geared towards providing grants to community/voluntary groups for community-based projects. Applications are now open for Streams 1 and 2 while applications for funding under Stream 3 will be invited at a later stage.

Application forms and guidelines are available on the Department’s website at www.ahg.gov.ie/arts/creative-arts/grants-and-funding
