Live music and rugby this weekend in The Snug Bar

Mark the start of a new month this Thursday, October 1, with a visit to The Snug Bar to catch renowned local musicians Jock and Dave. From 10pm they will be playing a wide range of songs to suit all musical tastes from the old classics to the current chart toppers.

Crooked Jacks provide the tunes on Friday October 2 at 10pm - this well-established ballad / folk group from the Midlands have played in top venues in London, New York, and Amsterdam to name but a few. Their influences are The Dubliners, Dublin City Ramblers, The Pogues, Mumford and sons, and the Clancys. The Crooked Jacks always deliver a very upbeat and varied performance - if you haven’t heard them before, check them out on Friday.

Saturday, October 3 sees Acoustic 2 perform from 10pm. They are an acoustic cover band with a wide selection of tunes to accompany a Saturday night pint. Or head out to the beer garden for the regular DJ set.

Snug Sunday opens with the screening of Ireland v Italy in the Rugby World Cup at 4.30pm. Don’t miss this opportunity to watch the match with your own supporters crowd - yes, it’s a better atmosphere even than your own living room!

Stay on to hear Mulligan at 7pm - they are made up of made up of two members of The Dublin City Ramblers: Stephen Leeson and Christy McLoughlin.They have played all over the world including a yearly spot in Las Vegas. They are available to play at all kinds of functions including weddings, corporate nights, and at all types of venues.

Stephen Leeson is an extraordinary multi-talented Irish folk singer, songwriter, musician, best known for his unique voice, his impeccable stage presence and his versatility as a musician. His talents extend across guitar, five string banjo, bodhran, harmonica, bones and spoons. Christy McLoughlin is a talented musician and vocalist, master of the banjo and mandolin. He has played all over Ireland and in America, Spain, and England. As well as Mulligan, he has played in The Luke Kelly Tribute Band, Shenanigans, and The Clann. 

Following Mulligan at 9pm Imposter take to the Snug stage. Covering The Black Crowes to The Black Keys, Gorillaz to The Killers and everything in between, this great energy band has over 50 years gigging experience! Imposter knows what it takes to have a great time, bringing intricate three-part harmonies that come as easily as stomping on the distortion pedal.

Live Barclays Premier League games on Sky Sports, Setanta, and BT Sport are also shown over the weekend.
