AIT women’s soccer club are very grateful to Leisure World Athlone for their generous sponsorship of a new kit. The girls recently enjoyed an eventful social evening in the centre.

Over the next few weeks the girls have some crucial games coming up; on Tuesday February 3 they play their last league game at home to St Patricks College Drumcondra.

At the minute AIT are just one point behind the leaders, so a win in this game will guarantee them at the very least second place in the WSCAI first division and a play off with second from the bottom in the premier division, for promotion to the Premier next season.

On Saturday February 7, they will compete in the WSCAI Intervarsity Qualifiers. AIT are hosting two of the groups for the qualifiers which will be played in Willow Park. AIT have been grouped with Cork IT, Mary Immaculate College, and Trinity College Dublin.

Whoever finishes top will qualify for the WSCAI Intervarsity Tournament which will be held in Castlebar from March 5 to 7.

On Thursday February 12, they travel to Dublin College University for the Challenge Cup quarter final.

Busy times ahead, but they are all looking forward to the challenge and will hopefully finish off the season on a high!
