Signed Six Nations jersey up for grabs at Marist auction

Parents and friends of the Marist College have been busy preparing for their monster auction which takes place this Sunday March 8. People and businesses of Athlone have been very generous in their response with a whole treasure trove of items available for auction.

There are vouchers for many restaurants, also a spa day to the value of €250 in a local hotel, and some overnight stays as well. For those of you hoping to get fit for summer there are treadmills, bicycles, and gym equipment! Gym memberships will also be on offer.

Children will be catered for with lots of toys, DVDs, and books. For both adults and children there will be a lucky dip with all sorts of great prizes. An extensive collection of paintings, prints, and mirrors, along with furniture ranging from lamps to sofas to tables and chairs will be auctioned. Some of the more unusual donations include a tiled mahogany fireplace with granite hearth and built-in units, a Laurel and Hardy box set, and a voucher for a service for a commercial vehicle to the value of €300.

An extra special buy on the day will be an Ireland rugby jersey signed by members of the Six Nations Irish rugby team - and you never know who might turn up on the day to present it!

Don’t miss out on a chance to win three weeks in Lurgan Gaeltacht for either summer 2015 or 2016.

Tickets for the auction are priced at €5 each or three for €10 available on the day.

Donations are still welcome and can be dropped into the Marist gym every day this week, from 3-4pm, and on Saturday afternoon.

Viewing will be from 12pm on Sunday and the auction will start at 2pm. Refreshments will beavailable on the day.
